Happy New Year 2010 from all at SLL!

SLL President Jakki Cunningham had the great honour to receive the Trophy for Initiative awarded during the 16th Epona Festival, organised by the Société du Cheval Français (French Horse Society), which took place at Cabourg in Normandy, from 9 to 11 October 2009.

Jakki received the trophy, which she would like to share with everyone who has helped the SLL Association.

We also have great pleasure to tell you that the television presenter Patrick Poivre d'Arvor and the actress Anne Richard, who were present at the awards ceremony, have agreed to become ambassadors for the association.

The young people who rode the horses across France and England have also sent us news of their life since the ride ended a year ago. For some of them, the project has given them unexpected opportunities.

Because of the sensitive nature of the work with disabled people and young riders, it is not always possible for us to show the horses doing the work for which they are destined, but the versatility of the Camargue horses for use in so many different tasks and disciplines is clearly shown through the reports and images.
